Lubbock, Texas - IDD and Dementia Workshop

The 2-day Foundation workshop ($25, normally $275) prepares attendees with the background and skills necessary to care for an aging adult with an intellectual/developmental disability (IDD) who is at risk of or who has developed Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia.  The Trainer workshop ($50, normally $475) includes a third day to the 2-day Foundation workshop and is for those who wish to become NTG Affiliated Regional Trainers (ARTs).  NTG ARTs have access to ongoing free continuing education opportunities, mentoring, and greatly expanded topic modules.  NTG ARTs can provide training within their organization or offer fee-based training to outside organizations using NTG branded and copyrighted training materials. Using NTG materials combined with ongoing mentoring and expertise, ARTs become the local experts in their geographic region for training and education on IDD and dementia.

Target Audience:  Any aging or disability agency staff with direct or ancillary responsibility for caring for an aging adult with IDD at risk of or who has developed Alzheimer's or a related form of dementia.  Families are also encouraged to attend.  Prior attendees have included nurses, case managers, direct support personnel, program managers, physician assistants, social workers, guardians, law enforcement, staff development, dentists and physicians, psychologists, adult day program staff, and many others.
