Realizujemy to poprzez promowanie usług i wsparcia dla osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną dotkniętych demencją oraz ich opiekunów. NTG opracowuje materiały, takie jak wytyczne dotyczące praktyki i narzędzia do badań przesiewowych, zapewnia szkolenia i zasoby edukacyjne, oferuje internetową grupę wsparcia dla opiekunów rodzinnych oraz zapewnia pomoc techniczną organizacjom i agencjom pragnącym poprawić swoje możliwości opieki nad tą starzejącą się populacją.

New Online, On-Demand Course Now Available
NTG's Online Course for GUIDE Navigators on Intellectual Disability and Dementia
The NTG, with support from Special Olympics, is offering a free supplemental online course designed specifically for GUIDE Navigators and related CMS GUIDE professionals -- "Navigating Dementia Care in Intellectual Disabilities." The course provides a timely and practical introduction to the unique challenges faced by Medicare beneficiaries with intellectual disability who are aging with dementia. Delivered in three on-demand units, the course covers the fundamentals of aging and dementia in intellectual disability, the dynamics of family and specialized caregiver support, and strategies for leveraging community resources to enhance person-centered care planning. Canadian Study Underway on the NTG-EDSD
National study exploring uses of NTG-EDSD
Focusing on the NTG-EDSD, the study at the Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre in Toronto is examining how the tool is being used across Canada. The project involves case studies and national surveys with the aims to strengthen early detection, improve supports, and inform best practices in dementia care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
